Courses

Tidal Water Consulting offers two Courses of Study: Restorative Practices in the Workplace and Restorative Practices in Education. Both begin with our foundational 10-hour course, Introduction to Restorative Practices.

Key Features

  • Experiential Learning: We use an iterative and participatory Circle process, so participants learn the practices by using the practices.
  • Experienced Trainer: Courses are facilitated by Tidal Water founder, Roy Karp, who draws from two decades of experience working in schools, non-profits, and social enterprises.
  • Small Classes: Groups of 5-12 students maximize participation and engagement.
  • Professional Credentials: Participants receive a Certificate of Completion for each course that can be added to their CV and bio.
  • Office Hours: All participants can sign up for office hours available each week if they have questions.
  • Restorative Learning Network: After competing any of our courses, participants are invited to join a monthly virtual meet-up to share their learning and resources.

  • $400/person for a 10-hour course
  • $2,400 for groups up to 15

Restorative Practices in the Workplace

  • Introduction to Restorative Practices: Learn the foundational values and concepts of Restorative Practices using an engaging Circle process.
  • Cultivating a Restorative Workplace: Practice non-violent communication (affective statements and requests), navigating difficult conversations, and using Circles for collaborative problem solving.
  • Navigating Conflict and Harm in the Workplace: Develop skills needed for effective conflict resolution and repairing harms to individuals, relationships, and community.

Restorative Practices in Education

  • Introduction to Restorative Practices: Learn the foundational values and concepts of Restorative Practices using an engaging Circle process. 
  • Building a Restorative School: Practice non-violent communication to build trust with students and colleagues; explore the use of Circles to explore content and address issues. 
  • Restorative Discipline and Accountability: Develop skills needed for effective conflict resolution and repairing harms to individuals, relationships, and community.
